How Automatic Covers Work
Automatic pool covers use a motorized reel system housed in a recessed box at one end of the pool. The cover—made of heavy-duty vinyl fabric—rolls on and off tracks that run along both sides of the pool. When activated, the motor smoothly deploys or retracts the cover in less than a minute.
System Components
- Cover Fabric:Heavy-duty vinyl with insulating foam core. Blocks 100% of sunlight.
- Track System:Aluminum or stainless tracks guide cover deployment. Recessed or deck-mounted.
- Motor Housing:Recessed box houses motorized reel. Can be under deck or at pool end.
